Tossed & Found ï¿½ is a social enterprise program designed to empower poor and homeless individuals to rebuild their lives to self-sufficiency, by teaching marketable vocational skills, such as carpentry and construction, through the production of artistic functional furniture made from reclaimed hurricane debris and salvaged building materials.

While clients are actively learning employable skills, their self-confidence, self-respect and sense of dignity increase, making them feel proud and important for the work they are doing.

::Call for Volunteers::

The Outreach Center is in need of volunteers for various positions in our donation receiving area and the Well.Mart. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Disney Parks to offer a program to make volunteering even MORE worthwhile! It's called "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day", and it's easy and fun to participate - all you have to do is commit to volunteering a day with us, and in return, Disney will give you free admission to one of their parks! H1N1 Vaccines at the Recovery Action Center

The Recovery Action Center hosted the Office of Public Health on Monday, March 8th as they distributed free H1N1 vaccinations to the public. This federally funded service was administered by the coordinator, Ron Varett, of the Office of Public Health along with two nurses. They also provided education on the importance of using preventive methods to stay healthy and disease free.

At the Outreach Center we meet people
struggling to regain their dignity everyday.
Their struggles are real, their needs are pressing
and their hope is limited.

They are the poor and they are the physically, mentally or emotionally ill. They are unemployed. They are those without transportation, food, clothing, childcare, legal help or a network of support. They are without resources in a crisis.

They feel despair, apathy and a lack of hope.
They need you and me and us.
They need the Outreach Center.
